This is wonderfully "kitschy" and so very cute. The colour is vibrant and the mood of it is whimsical.
Her outfit, though steampunk, lacks the depressive quality and blends well with the atmosphere of the work in a fun and playful spirit without deducting from the outfit-appropriate quality. Background colour contributes to this. Shade is great, the lighting source ambiguous (likely ambient, yes?), but certainly doesn't subtract; after all, it's just fun. Good stuff!

Oh...and, dammit, the Octo's freakin' adorable. It looks like it probably squeaks, too.
